Akram the Great

On his first overseas tour, the young innocent asked Miandad how much he would have to pay to play in the series. The lad who arrived in New Zealand in 1984-85 without a pair of proper bowling shoes eventually graduated into one of the world's most feared fast bowlers.

He started out as a ferocious quick who could bowl big inswingers. Once when captain Imran Khan asked him to bowl a yorker, he failed to do so, admitting later that he did not know what a yorker meant.
