Zimbabwe have welcomed back experienced all-rounder Grant Flower and seam bowler Douglas Hondo to their one-day squad for the tri-series with India and hosts Australia early next year.

Flower missed the recent series against Australia and West Indies with a broken finger while Hondo has been missing since he damaged a thigh muscle in the opening game of the Australian Test tour in October.

Zimbabwe coach Geoff Marsh said: "It's good to see a highly experienced player like Grant Flower back in the side after a long injury lay-off.

"He and players like Heath Streak, Stuart Carlisle and Craig Wishart form a group with more than 500 one-day international caps between them."

Streak, who captains the touring party with wicketkeeper Tatenda Taibu as his deputy, said the series was another chance to develop the country's talented young players.

"We competed well with West Indies in our recent five match home series, which has given us a lot of confidence and self belief," he said.

"But we know that this tournament will be another step up in terms of intensity against the teams that met in the final of the World Cup in March," added Streak.

The four-week series starts with two day-nighters for Australia who face India on January 9 and Zimbabwe two days later.

Squad:

Heath Streak (captain), Tatenda Taibu, Andy Blignaut, Stuart Carlisle, Sean Ervine, Grant Flower, Travis Friend, Douglas Hondo, Stewart Matsikenyeri, Blessing Mahwire, Ray Price, Vusi Sibanda, Mark Vermeulen, Craig Wishart.
