Hullo, Mr Bhatt. I am loggin in from Madison,

Most human being want to have a friend. Why are
you against the concept of a friendship? COMMON CHORDS (Thu Jan 16 11:07:14 1997 IST):
pANDITJI, do you think more Indian classical musicians should get involved in the world music scene? What prevents them from doing so? Should they know more about western systems of music? Wannabe Ry (Thu Jan 16 11:07:16 1997 IST):
Hi Ptji do you like Western classical music? WHat are your favourite composers/ pieces? Vishwa Mohan Bhatt (Thu Jan 16 11:07:29 1997 IST):

There is a great despondency about the state
of Indian classical music. There is a feeling
that beyond the great masters -- Ustad Vilayat Khansaab --
and the other greats like yourself, Ustad Amjad Khansaab, there is no
one to carry the flame to the next millennium. Do you agree?
Are you carrying on the guru-shishya parampara? Raghupati Raghav (Thu Jan 16 11:09:29 1997 IST):
What was it like learning music with Pandit
Ravi Shankar? Was he as much of a taskmaster as his
guru, Ustad Alladiya Khansaab was? AdMan (Thu Jan 16 11:09:43 1997 IST):
Oh! Panditji. I didn't realize that Pandit Ravi Shanker had also won a grammy. Now I'm doubly proud of my country.
Do you have any plans to visit the U.S. in the next few months? Samuel Jacob (Thu Jan 16 11:10:34 1997 IST):
Do you believe your music is strictly not
Indian classical music? A Hawaian guitar, however,
modified would not classify as an Indian classical instrument, would it? COMMON CHORDS (Thu Jan 16 11:11:51 1997 IST):
Raghupatiraghav, get your facts right. Ravi Shankar's guru was Allaudin Khan. Mao said, "without investigation no right to speak!" Angad Gwaliorwale (Thu Jan 16 11:11:54 1997 IST):
Do you, like Ustad Ali Akbar Khansaab and Ustad Zakir
Husain, spend most of your time in the West?
What do you do out there? What does the West give you
that India does not? Raghupati Raghav (Thu Jan 16 11:13:02 1997 IST):
Common Chords, that's what I meant!
What was it like learning music with
Pandit Ravi Shankar? Was he as much of a
taskmaster as his guru, Ustad
Allaudin Khan?
Angad Gwaliorwale (Thu Jan 16 11:14:01 1997 IST):
