baracuda : who will make moren money ainvestor who has equal amount of infy reliance and sbi or who has eserve geometric mcdow and honeywell
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : Good question. I think the safer retrun will be in the Infy group. The morevolatile, but better return will be in the latter stocks.
baracuda : why have yu never recomended mphasis bfl just months back it .is it still a good buy

BASANTMAHESHWARI : Last week you mentioned that Tata honey is to do 360 crores in Topline and 36 in bottomline for the CY. Are these Company estimates(guidance)? This translates into an EPS of more then Rs 40 per share and a RONW on a BV of Rs 90 to over 45%. Are these not aggressive estimates??? Please comment.
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : Rs 36 crore is for FY-04. For this year, the estimate is Rs 22 cr or EPS of Rs 23-25.

Ramesh Shrichand Damani : I sold BEML as you said. Without divestment, it is not very attractive. They should do Rs 5 this year.
AnandBhatt : Dear Sir,Hello? How are you? There are 2 schools of thought in the market right now.First is the theory that FIIs would not be active for the next fortnight and return in Jan so one should wait for a correction to buy into the market. The second view is that all the FIIs dont go on vacation and if they put in money in the next 2 weeks then one may not get a chance to buy at lower levels before Jan.What is your opinion.Pls advise.
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : That is hard to judge. However, I believe that it is time to put some money to work in the market.
BASANTMAHESHWARI : Mphasis has bagged Accenture’s total BPO / outsourcing order should I add more at current levels or just wait for a downward reaction to Rs 625 odd levels
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : The IT-enabled business was around Rs 30 crore. Not a great amount. It is an expensive stock.
cmittal : what is your call on HTMT and tvselectronics
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : I think TMT should go higher over the next few weeks. I have a trading position.
Ahmedabadguys : Sir as you know when big cap from certain sector moves up small and mid cap from that sector also moves up and some of them gives fantastic returns..In banking sector which one have you spotted in this categaory which is on firm footing ...
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : Clearly, market is enthusiastic about Bank of India, BoB and PNB.
BASANTMAHESHWARI : Samir ARora plans to take over Alliance India funds. Is this not great news for the people who were bearrish on the Alliance stocks just a while ago?

BASANTMAHESHWARI : Pantaloon. Can one buy at current levels of RS 46 odd for a trading punt for Rs 50 levels. The Co. is also doing well on the retailing front also
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : Yes. It is a good speculative bet.
ayan : Sirfor mcdowell what is your strategy..trade or just buy and hold?
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : Yes. I think once the herbertsons issue is resolved, they will take steps to unlock value. You must see stocks when they are unpopular. That is how you get value. I own it.
baracuda : it took me 2days to accumulate 100shares of t honey with such poor liquidity will fii or institutions ever look at itand is there an exit if things go horribly wrong
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : Generally, you can get 1000-2000 shares. It is illliquid. Remeber Wipro was ill-liquid too at one time. Numbers must be right. That is important.

AnandBBhatt : Sir,with all these PSU Banks going up so much, comparitively there is a very small upward movement in KArur Vysya. What is the reason for this?
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : The bad banks (high NPA) are moving up. Karur Vysya is relatively well run.
tabu : Can e-Serve show growth in dec qtr.
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : They should around 7-8 per cent sequential.
vikas : We should not ask but very curious to know your target for MCDOWELL AND HONEYWELL if things goes right
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : I don't set price targets really. Mcdowell will move when they unlock value. Honeywell should have a good few years.

Ramesh Shrichand Damani : Badly. Shourie is the best bet.
BASANTMAHESHWARI : Give us one example(except the big 2) of companies in contract research and does UPL figure in your generic farming listf
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : Take a look at Suven Pharma (Rs 100), Shasun Chemicals (Rs 75). I own a small amount of Suven.

Ramesh Shrichand Damani : Somehow I have never liked ONGC. It doesn't deserve to be the largest market cap company.
BASANTMAHESHWARI : I asked you about getting into Polaris in the backdrop of the bad news. Your take??
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : Information is too sketchy to make a call. However, it should be no more than a blip.
priya : NIIT AT 180 and SSI AT 105 IS IT A GOOD TIME TO BUY- WILL THESE BOUNCE BACK TO 400++
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : I would buy NIIT at lower rates. Avoid SSI.
nips : BEST PSU STOCK FOR 2-3 MONTH TERM?
Ramesh Shrichand Damani : SBI.
