Parveen Sian : It is a great honour to be the first, there is a lot of responsibility to establish it and lots of work and media interest. Handsome : Parveen, do you do modelling? Parveen Sian : I have done a lot of catwalk modelling in fashion shows in the UK. mickey : What are you doing in Bombay? Parveen Sian : Indian modelling in the UK is really beginning to take off, a lot of shows now and lots of bollywood stars are coming over, but we need more fashion houses from India. Prasad : Parveen, why did you become Miss India UK?! I mean, what do you do otherwise? Parveen Sian : Miss India UK is not a beauty pageant as such, we all had to perform a talent, so it was more of a beauty and talent show. harshitlikesuparveen : i asked u a question parveen, how do u explain life? Parveen Sian : Life is great isn't it? harshitlikesuparveen : so parveen if u dont mind bout ur personal life, do u have a bf? Parveen Sian : I am single and available! Parveen Sian : I am more interested in dancing than acting, but if the opportunity came up i would consider it, who wouldn't!!! Prasad : so Parveen, which ambassador are you going to become now?! are you going to africa for some hunger programme? Parveen Sian : I am focused right now on being an ambassador for British Indian women, and will be embarking on a number of tours, the first one to india in a couple of weeks and then to USA before the [Miss India] world finals. I am looking at doing some charity work also, but would like to work with a charity in India. mickey : What about your accounting job then? Have you quit? Parveen Sian : I am quitting next week, I thought it was best to work until X'mas and not leave them in trouble! Handsome : Why is your name Parveen and not Praveen? Parveen Sian : what kind of question is that? lol. I will ask my mum, maybe she spelt it wrong on my birth certificate...???? lol Sandycool : What are your other interests in life? Parveen Sian : I like dancing and reading and sports, I love the gym. mickey : What language do you speak at home? what are the languages you know? Or are you just hoping? What about modelling? Do you have any assignments or is that also let's go and see types? Parveen Sian : No bollywood offers but some mainstream interest from the USA. I have a role with Miss India UK for a year, so can't do too much this year. There are some modelling assignments in India though and also some commercials. Sandycool : What's your pastime? Parveen Sian : I like cooking , dancing and going to the gym. I like theatre and cinema too! Sandycool : Who is your favourite hero? Parveen Sian : Big B, he has done a lot for Indian culture globally! Sandycool : Would you marry an Indian? Parveen Sian : Of course! My culture and identity is my biggest asset! ram : was this your first big event Parveen Sian : I have done shows where i danced female lead with Gulshan Grover, Karisma Kappor, Saif Ali Khan, but this was the most important! Handsome : will you have arranged marriage or love marriage? Parveen Sian : Well I am not sure, I would like to feel I will meet someone and fall madly in love and live happily ever after, but meeting them is not so easy????? Parveen Sian : I don't know, there are pageants here but they were never official. Miss India was and because it has talent in it, everyone was interested and didn't think it was demeaning. ram : what type of guy u need for yourself? Parveen Sian : I am not a trained dancer as such, but have been dancing for a number of years and have been training, but not classical. I do contemporary dance and bollywood stuff. Saira : Parveen, do you have a beauty regimen? Parveen Sian : Drink plenty or water, sleep early and eat lots of fruit. goswami : Demeaning? The others are demeaning? In what way? Parveen Sian : I would not say others are demeaning, they are perceived as demeaning in the west. Miss India UK wasn't, there were no stats or swimming costumes, just 20 beautiful, talented and intelligent women. Best of British so to speak! India people are fantastic, so hospitable and friendly. mohan : Is there anything in the world that worries you every now and then???? Parveen Sian : Peace and stability in the world would be great, I can't understand why in this millennium we have so many conflicts!!! Sandycool : Were u a good student? Parveen Sian : Yes, i worked very hard and won best student of the year, which was great recognition for my dedication. Shyam : What was the most difficult time in your life? How did it affect your life? Parveen Sian : I think being born, i can't remember it much, but it must have been cold outside! It made me see life differently! lol bigboy : Do you have a boyfriend?
