A lot of Indi-pop sounds derivative. Wouldn't it be more appropriate for us to come up with our own version of popular music, without borrowing quite so heavily from the Western idiom?

Sparky: Well they call it Hindi Pop but you can interpret it in your own way. I don't think music needs to be very strictly categorised and Thanks. I'm glad you like my music !

Do you ever think you'll go techno? Or perhaps do a duet with Daler Mehendi?

JAP: You willl find that I agree with you once you listen to TALAASH .

You know, after all, they do say that the musicians that last are the ones that are willing to take risks...you know, go out on a limb once in a while.

Sparky: I adore Daler Mehendi and yes my new song Kesaria has a bit of techno beat but it will always remain just a bit.

I mean, Macarena-ish music is good, but it gets old awfully quickly. Techno lives, man!!

Suneeta: what do you feel of hip hop and alternative music which has such a large following nowadays?

SPARKY: I think I've taken a lot of risks both in Dhuan and Talaash. Infact I was pleasantly surprised that Paree took off so well inspite of not being bubble gum pop. There's a lot of experimental stuff on the new album and I'm very curious to see how it will work .

Did I read someplace that one of your siblings - not sure if it was a brother or sister - is also into music? Could you tell me a bit more, please?

Bruce: Well if its you I needn't worry since you sound like a pretty nice guy. As for the devil I've always wanted to meet him in any case.

Anil: Alternative is a very large category . I like some of it. Hip Hop is fun .

Hey, Suneeta, have you heard a band called Black Velvet? Based someplace in Europe, not sure where, but the lead singer has a voice that's a dead ringer for yours. :-)

Or perhaps you could jam with the Gipsy Kings. I mean, everyone does hindi pop. Set yourself APART, why don't you? I mean, Def Leppard's first two albums were dynamite, and then everything after that sounds the same. Why would I want to shell out sixteen bucks for an album that I already have just because it has a new name and a few new words that I can't understand anyway? You've got talent, man. Don't let the mediocrity of Indian pop pin you down...

JAP: You are right my eldest sister sings with a pop rock band called Just 2 in Switzerland (Kalpana Rao Lauper)and my elder sister sings with a jazz blues band in Bangalore (Aarti Rao Shetty) infact Aarti and her husband have also made my video Dehka Dehka.
