Hi NOStradamus, Novell is customer driven and its reasons for success was filling customers need which others could not percive. In order to remain competitive today Novell has over a billion dollar in cash with no debt to finance the future products and technologies.

thanks harish for your response. but i still do not see novell making an impact with its intranetware release. not much of press i guess. u guys really need to make a noise... or is it that there is not much in the internetware to talk aobut. will the immensely user-friendly windows nt not edge internetware off the shelves???????

also u guys it seems have lot vendor problems.Also novells new strategy dosenot reflect anythink in the line of an application server this were people like NT & OS have been hit ,Secondly even UNIX who donnot even have a interface have sur

Hi Techie, Novell is very much in application server business . NetWare already supports all the major RDBMS and now with SMP and products like Oracle 7.2 designed to take advantage of NetWare SMP it will be most cost effective application server. Intranetware has built in java virtual m/c to run java programs and also it supports all internet scripting tools such as Perl , Basic script for L CGI and R Cgi scripts. Intranetware beign lean OS should out perform general purpose OS such as Unix and NT on app server performance.

Hey Warp Man you,ve been quite for some time now. What happened??

Hi Sh, First of all let me clarify what Intranetware contains. Intranetware contains NetWare 4.11 , Web server, FTP server, DNS server, IPX/IP gateway, WAN router , Net Scape browser along with development tools as explained before. Future releases will contains proxy server, SSL , E commerce server, JVM and Native IP support, Replication services. NDS is now available on SCO unix, HP unix, should be available on SUN solaris and NT also.

what i firmly belive is that either novell will fully integrate nds with nt;or MS will deliver ole directory services that will interoperate with nds whats ur belief

Mr. Mehta?? Please explain the concepts of Manage Wise and Group Wise. What is so different about them that Novell is going to town with it????

What percentage of the Intranet market does Novell expect to have by the year 2000?

Hi Warp man, Can you clarify your questions about client/server applications . Do you mean Novell is not supplying applications or you are implying that third party client server applications are not available ?

Hi Warp man, Both Groupwise and Managewise are cross platform messaging and management product respectively. In the heterogenous computing world both these products along with NDS will help customers reduce the cost of owning a network substantially along with security , manageability , collabration , work flow services.

Do you mean Novell is a leader in the Intranet market today? Or is it like the MAD comic statistics - one person today, two tomorrow - and voila we have a 100% increase in market share!!

Hi Sh, Novell strategy is to offer freedom of choice to customers for service which you are reffering to eg. there are multiple RDBMS, SNA gateways, management tools , messaging solutions for NetWare.

Hi Techie, Novell would like to see NDS becoming internet standards and Novell has taken number of steps to enhance the critical mass NDS has already achieve on NetWare platforms on other OS platforms. Novell would like to see NDS fully integerate not only with NT but also with all Unix falvours. Novell currently offers source code and binary version of NDS to OEM and ISVs.

harish, building a loyal clinetele is one thing, keeping them loyal in face of competitors like microsoft is another. i am scared for u. how can u so easily advise ram rahim to buy novell shares?? the futre looks grim man.
