Most of them were clearly distressed by last fortnight's cyclone and were only too willing to help the state government in its huge rehabilitation effort. The questions were eloquent, filled with concern about their homeland which has been beset by two hurricanes in two months and a murderous insurrection by Marxist-Leninist extremists.

The chief minister may have played safe, his audience did not.

The NRI Telugu community would be happy to help in whatever way we can, but there must be some way that we can forecast these calamities and take action to avert the damage. Do you have any crisis management unit to address these issues?

I understand that Mr. Naidu, is not in the chat room yet, but I hope he answers this question of mine, whenever he gets there. Question: I am working in New Jersey, USA. My heart is with the people who suffered in the cyclone. I am willing to make a donation for the relief. I would like my donation to go to the victims in the shortest path possible, I dont want it to change too many hands before the victim gets it. Is the CM relief fund the safest bet for me? Also your statement that donataion is tax free, but is there a way I can get tax deduction from the federal govt. for such a donation.

No one could have forecast your rise and your power. What I would like to ask you is how true are the reports of differnces in the UF and is it true that your Front will not last beyond February?

Good Evening, Mr. Naidu. My question is regarding subsidies. Everyone wants to continue subsidies for their political reasons though they knew that it’s in the best interest of state’s economy. Is there any end to these subsidies? Are there any plans to provide a mean to people so that they could sustain themselves without subsidies?

I think your question is very valid. I believe the earthquake funds of three years ago were spirited away by a lot of mean people. Why is it that we Indians cannot resist the attempt to profit from tragedy?
