Sadi ... up. They are using MacLink Plus .. which means that all PC Windows slides have to be reformatted in the Mac ... I just wish these two platforms would converge ONCE and FOR ALL ! *smile*

Mayank, in case I missed something back there. Yes, there is something called PowerPoint for Mac; I'm nor sure about FreeLance for Mac.

cyberman, one of the things the Apple has done is to re-hire Guy Kawasaki and give him the designation of Mac Evangelist - Guy is the author of the book "How to drive your competition crazy" and one of the most vocal critics of Apple

Miheer:Where do Apple/Microsoft actually stand on the low priced net surfing machines? there is this one guy here in Delhi selling a colour TV 14 plus keyboard, modem and some processor inside for rs 14000/= and I am typinf this out to you on it now. No UPS needed an my power scene right now in Delhi is 185 volts at 44 hz. As far as the www/internet scene is concerned, why then do i need either of the above?

Yes, the Maruti might fullfil all your needs but lets compare it to similarly priced cars in the world - now you'll see that the Maruti seems to satisfy Indians who have no better refrence but is a complete failure car elsewhere - the Cielo is another example of something considered elitist in India and not even looked at twice in other parts of the world

netman, if you are looking for wicked fast machines and a reasonable price check out\ the 6400 series from Apple, about 2/3 the cost of a similar performing UNIX workstation and no UNIX hassles

I go to different sites depending on what I want - honestly I haven't come across a single site that I can call my favourite or even say that it could become my favourite some time in the future- but, if you ask about chat servers then the answer is very clear "TALKCITY" (chat.talkcity.com - using a IRC client OR http://www.talkcity.com/eztalk to use Java applet)

cyberman, the point is that the world is embracing Windoze in spite of its unfriendlyness - can you imagine what will happen when they discover the friendlyness of the MacOS

netman, if you are into multiprocessing then check out the multiprocessor PowerPC based system from Apple, Motorola, UMAX, PowerComputing, and soon IBM - all running the MacOS

cyberman, yes, and that has been the problem with companies like Apple. HP was weak on marketing it relied on the superior quality of its products but then it realised its mistake and now see where it is. Maybe, Apple might be able to do that and maybe it won't ...

Cyberman, you talk about aggressive marketing. I agree that makes sales, but if you want an idea of what kind of products you end up with, consider: aggressive marketing drives politics, and just look at the governments the world's countries have today. :-)
