vishu: First rule out any evidence of varicocele. A surgeon could evaluate better and a Doppler study could be still more precise. If it present surgery may prove beneficial, otherwise wear loose undergarments and put your testicles in a mug filled with cold ice water for 10 minutes twice in a day, as the cold atmosphere favours sperm production. Some Ayurvedic texts advise one to avoid hot foods like chillies and heavy spices for better sperm production. They feel that reduced sperm count is because of increase in "Pitta". In my experience also this does help.

Vish: I see cases only on referral. No direct patients. Two reasons: The patient knows that he is visiting a qualified person and not a quack and secondly only difficult cases filter down to me so it helps me in sharpening my skills.

Kaamdev: Find out the cause and then treat it. If it depression, anti depressants and supportive psychotherapy could be of help. If it is total blunting of sexual desire because of thought disorder (schizophrenia) necessary psychiatric help would prove useful. The testes manufacture testosterone and gets partly metabolised in the liver and then acts on the target organs. Hence any fault in the testes or liver, if present, needs to be treated accordingly.
