Janab, Is it fair to always blame Pakistan? There can be no smoke without fire. All Pakistan did was to stoke the resentment and alienation of the average Kashmiri, and they will do it again if they get the chance. Why blame them, they are not angels anyway. But we must set our house right, make sure that Kashmiris never rise in arms because they have been neglected. How can this be ensured. Since 1953 to date, we have only been talking. when will we do something.

Mr Abdullah, I just wanted you to know that I think of you as one of the true patriots of India and an honourable leader for the people of J & K.

Huzoor, you have spoken of autonomy. You have asked Dr Karan Singh to head a commission to decide on this issue. What kind of autonomy would you like for J&K? And do you think it is wise to have Dr Singh to study the subject?

what is your view about that kashmir for tourist are free of fear of terrorism.

Do you think terrorism will get a new leash of life if the BJP ever comes to power (doesn't seem possible right now, at least)?

Dr Abdullah, what is the mood amongst the Kashmiri youth after your govt. was sworn in. What does your government have for them?

Mr Abdullah, how do you plan to increase the your contact with the common man in J & K , so that he can easily identify with the government.

India: I think new chapter in India's history has started there is a government in Delhi which beileves in true fedral structure where states will be strong and centre will be strong. In the past it has been a different strory the govt in the centre almost ruled in the states. With this new beginning new changes have been brouhgt about in the working of the centre and the state. I'll mention one example In the power sector everything was done at the cenral level, in the recent deliberations in Delhi states have been given the power to decide power projects arrange their finances bylaterally, trilaterally or multilaterally and even environmental clearnces can be done by the states this will make possible for J&K to harness energy from its rivers not only for the state and the entire northen region of the country. As far as blaming Pakistan is fconcerned we have an old love-hate relationship and the new govt in Delhi is also wanting to improve its relationships with Pakistan.

DR Abdullah. Congratulations! Someone just asked about Kashmiri youth. The youth were your greatest adversaries thorough the eighties. For them, your father's legacy was nothing but a betrayal of the Kashmiri people. How do you intend winning them over?

Sir, what do you feel was/is Pakistan's role in the turmoil of Kashmir? Why would any Kashmiri want to accede with it, when they know about the discrimination that the Indian born muslim faces in Pakistan?

Shrikant Subramanium: Yes, it is good to have Dr Karan Singh to head the autonomy commission he's been regent and governor of the state for 18 years his father signed the deed of acsession who better than him, we are these days working our paper for the issue of autonomy which will revolve round Delhi agreement of 1952 .

I think people should understand that Dr. Abdullah may not be that used with computers.

Huzoor, do you really believe that the ISI is involved in Kashmiri militancy? Can you deny that there is a spontaneous sentiment among your people as well.

Any chances of the Western hostages being freed in the near future? Or has the government forgotten them?

Dr Abdullah: How much foreign investment you expect to bring in Kashmir? And what kind of industries are going to be set up in your tenure? This is most important because Kashmirs economy, I believe is based only on Tourism and Small Scale Industries?

In retrospect, was your November 1986 accord with Rajiv Gandhi not the biggest political mistake in your life? Why did you go for it? And why did you rig the March 1987 election? Were you frightened of losing the election?
