The Diana Hayden Chat
Wendy (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:8 IST)
Hi Diana, after having won the title, how has life been in this glamorous world of models. It's all so flashy, was it easy for you to fit in there?
Madeline Abelworth (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:9 IST)
I heard you were here earlier with Anaida and Mehnaaz. How does it feel to be on the firing line yourself?
a (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:13 IST)
Considering that you love food so much, how did you manage to lose all that excess weight? Not that you were fat to begin with!
Wendy (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:16 IST)
Do you intend sticking to modelling or will you take on some other career?
senthil (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:19 IST)
what do u think as ur plus points and minus points in urself?
Amol Mujumdar (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:23 IST)
Pilot? I didn't know that! Do you plan to take up flying for a career?
Madeline Abelworth (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:23 IST)
Diana, though your answers are refreshingly frank, don't you think they will affect your chances at the contest?
Travitz (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:27 IST)
Do you think beauty contests are losing their relevance?
Amol Mujumdar (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:35 IST)
How much money have you spent on partipating in this contest so far?
Kavita (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:36 IST)
diana......yes, i DO...uh..REMEMBER - but you CAN have views on something not necessarily affecting you directly, CAN'T YOU? ;-)
Noshir (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:37 IST)
Diana: Which 'Indian beauty' do you admire ? Also don't you think the Indians who've represented so far are not Indian enough ?
Wendy (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:42 IST)
Madhu Sapre spoke about something as obscure as sports, and blew her chances. Don't you think you'll blow yours with the environment ?
Ash (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:47 IST)
Miss Hayden, what do YOU personally plan on doing to clean up the environment if you feel so strongly about it?
Noshir (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:48 IST)
Diana: It's sounds so heart-breakingly sweet, environment, Diana, the whole smarmy mushy routine. How much, if you can really admit it, of all this gook is true.
Kavita (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:48 IST)
diana......err....i'm pretty sure ki the air and water - though DEFINITELY and VERY MUCH threatened by pollution and stuff.....should definitely last your children's (and theirs, perhaps) generation.........
anurag (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:49 IST)
D. Hayden >> So you admit it that you're only doing it for the money. Well that's a start. Then stop this nonsense about you being concerned about the environment. You're doing it for nothing more than money so just come out and admit it!
Albert (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:49 IST)
Point taken, Noshir. Yes, milady, have you ever dirtied yourself trying to clear effluents from any place, say, the way people cleaned the Banganga tank in Bombay, before environmentalists and politics took over?
Noshir (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:50 IST)
Of course, Mother Teresa too had to become Miss World before she could do the world some good.
anurag (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:51 IST)
Diana Hayden >> I see so you like the rest of the world is just WAITING for others to take the first step. Typical attitude of those who only know how to complain but know nothing about taking corrective action. It's people like you who are good for nothing but try to act like you're so caring/concerned about the world. Disgusting isn't it!
Ash (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:52 IST)
Miss Hayden, the pollution in the air we breathe, and the water we drink, is affecting us and the children of this world HERE and NOW! What personal efforts have YOU made to do something about this problem? Afterall, its what you do TODAY that counts, not just what you PLAN to do tomorrow! Why not let your actions speak louder than your words!
Noshir (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:54 IST)
Consider, your lipstick most likely uses ganoin, which gives that singular shine. Comes from fish scales. Your shampoo has agents in it that damage the environment once it flows out, the greasepaint -- or its variant you slap on, well, you really want to know? Anyway, after all this artificial support, what kind of nature are you promoting. Or claiming you promote?
Albert (Thu Oct 16 1997 20:56 IST)
Ash, if actions were to speak louder than words, especially if they came from film and modelling personalities, they would feel like the Coronation Express in the small of your back. Don't ask for trouble
chann (Thu Oct 16 1997 21:2 IST)
Diana, do you have any opinion about the poltical situation in India ?
MARKS (Thu Oct 16 1997 21:10 IST)
How confident r u about your victory. u look no less than Aishwariya or Sushmita. so the crown must come to India
