Credit Policy may be a booster for the marketsRamesh Shrichand Damani feels that the RBI's monetary measures might boost the flagging economy and infuse some life into the moribund markets.
RajivH : Ramesh, congratulations on your picks. Market seems to be moving well. When u say bull market what is the upper limit u are expecting Do u expect ITC to be a part of this strong upturn?? Kalyanaraman : 1-if our govt.is serious, how much do you expect they can raise by disinvestment in the next 1 year..is this amount sufficient to solve the fiscal deficit problem will any foriegner come forward to buy our PSUs ?2-do you agree with the view of some analysts that govt.should not care about the deficit and should increase spending, which will benefit companies and stock market. Ramesh S. Damani : The program is getting more serious. They need to attract new FII buyers. They should disinvest DD if they had the guts. Quickly. That would help and get them good valuation. Vikram : Do u see much steam left in NIIT, Satyam and HCL Tech (as u and Jayks on CNBC had said u like some second rung beaten down stocks). Please also comment on eserve as it is available today at Rs 150 Ramesh S. Damani : After every bear market we have a bull market. Like day follows night. If that is true, most stocks will do well. That is becuase in a bull market, most stocks go up. That is the definition. Rita : Ramesh, do you expect quicker disinvestment now and which are the companies that you like in these PSUs at current valuations?? Ramesh S. Damani : I do. I recently bought some Container Corp at Rs 130. It could get disinvested next year. Rita : Market seems to have crossed the crucial 3050 mark today. At what level do you expect strong resistance?? Ramesh S. Damani : At 3060-3150 is a gap made after WTC attacks. Market should try and cross that. Rita : Please let me know if Reddys is currently expensive as I have got out of Cipla long ago and want to be in a strong pharma stock. Ramesh S. Damani : Both look good to me over the next few months. Shefali : Where will the Sensex bottom Rameshjee? Ramesh S. Damani : It may have bottomed out at 2600. ashish : I mean UTI Bank. Ramesh S. I am still skeptical of the DOW's climb. sanajy : good evening ramesh bhai, what about india hotel - it is almost half of the pre attack where as eih is still at the same rate . shd we buy indian hotels at this rate for investment for say 2 years as 2002 is 100 year of incorporation of the company Ramesh S.
