Market@February 2: Day's report

Sentiment remained extremely positive for PSU stocks. Nearly all the stocks gained more than 8 per cent. VSNL, CMC, BPCL, Gail, HCPL and Bhel gained smartly.

Software stocks also remained firm. Digital gained 11 per cent. SSI and Silverline also gained more 7 per cent each. However, Himachal and Global remained under pressure.

Reliance also closed at its record price. The cement stocks remained in demand. MTNL, ACC, L&T, and GACL recorded impressive gains.

Sensex up 66 points at 4352. Nifty up 19 points at 1379.

Losers: Between 7.9 per cent and 16 per cent
Cinevista, Subex System, Camlin, Omega Int, Multi Arc.
