Market@December 6: Day's report

After a strong opening, software stocks reacted sharply during the second half of the day. With a gain of 3 per cent, Satyam was the major gainer. Himachal and Zee Tele also gained more than 2 per cent each. Infosys, Wipro, SSI and Global Tele also gained marginally. Among the non-software, stocks like HLL, ACC, L&T, and Bhel remained in demand and gained smartly.

Sensex up 29 points at 4101. Nifty gained 12 points at 1297.
