KERC to have last word on Cogentrix PPAKarnataka Electricity Regulatory Commission Chairman Philipose Matthai today clarified that the commission would have its final say, if the Cogentrix were to change its Power Purchase Agreement to go ahead with the 1000 mega-watt fast-track project near Mangalore. He said he had only read in newspapers about the possible PPA re-negotiation by the company. The KERC had been vested with powers to hear disputes or complaints from anybody including individuals on any project if the commission so desired. However, proposals for power projects had to be also approved by the KERC, he added. He said no request or proposal from anyone had come to the KERC on Cogentrix so far. UNI |
