Galtin fastest in semis with 9.82 seconds

It is building up to be one of the most thrilling 100 metres races ever in the history of the Olympics Games.

Justin Gatlin of US is a major contender for the title of the fastest man on the planet after he clocked the fastest time in the semi-finals.

Gatlin clocked 9.82 seconds to win the first semi-final at the London Olympics, while Yohan Bolt cruised to victory in the third semis with 9.85s, while Usain Bolt managed 9.87s in the second semi-final.

The men's 100m lane draw for the final is as follows: 1. Richard Thompson (Trinidad) 2. Asafa Powell (Jamaica) 3. Tyson Gay (USA) 4. Yohan Blake (Jamaica) 5. Justin Gatlin (USA) 6. Usain Bolt (Jamaica) 7. Ryan Bailey (USA) 8. Martina Churandy (Netherlands)
