Usain Bolt of Jamaica won the second semi-final in the men's 100 metres in style by romping home in 9.87 seconds.

Ryan Bailey of the US was second with 9.96 seconds to take his place in the final.

Justin Gatlin of the US was faster than Bolt as he won the first semi-final in 9.82 seconds.
